🚗 How to Apply Car Decals (Wet Method)

🧰 Step 1 — Prepare Your Tools

Before starting, make sure you have everything ready for a smooth installation.

Tools:  

• Spray bottle (water + a few drops of detergent)
• Squeegee or card 
• Masking tape 
• Clean towel

🧼 Step 2 — Clean the Surface

Thoroughly clean the surface to remove dust, grease, and wax.

👉 Tip:
Any dirt left on the surface may cause bubbles.

📏 Step 3 — Position the Decal

Place the decal on the surface and secure it with masking tape.

👉 Important:
Do NOT remove the backing paper yet.

💦 Step 4 — Spray Water

Spray water (with a few drops of detergent) onto the surface.

👉 Why this matters:
This helps you reposition the decal and prevents it from sticking instantly.

🧩 Step 5 — Apply the Decal

Peel off the backing paper and place the decal onto the wet surface.

👉 Tip:
You can still adjust the position at this stage.

🪛 Step 6 — Squeegee Out Water

Use a squeegee to remove water and air bubbles.

👉 Key technique: 

• Start from the center and move outward
• Apply even pressure

⏳ Step 7 — Remove Transfer Tape

Wait a few minutes, then slowly peel off the transfer tape.

👉 Important:
Peel at a low angle and go slowly.

🔍 Step 8 — Final Check

Check all edges and press firmly if needed.

⏱️ Step 9 — Let It Dry

Let the decal dry for at least 24 hours.

👉 Important notes: 

• Do NOT wash the car within 48 hours
• Avoid direct sunlight during dryin
